Skegness Beach - The Award Winning Sandy Beaches of Skegness

Skegness Beach

Soft golden sand in between your toes, sandcastles the size of Hogwarts, grandad’s snoring away in his deck chair buried in the sand up to his knees time spent relaxing and playing on the beach creates those extra special memories which stay with us for years to come…

Our beaches at Skegness are long, sandy and clean and our Central Beach has again been awarded the coveted Blue Flag Award. To be awarded the Blue Flag you not only have to have a clean beach but also good water quality, a safe beach with lifeguards and/or lifesaving equipment, information about the beach amongst a whole host of other requirements. Only 64 beaches can currently fly the Blue Flag in England and Skegness is very proud to be one of them.

Though you are relaxing and having fun on the beach, always remember to put on plenty of sunscreen as the sun and the light breeze down by the sea will certainly catch you out if you don't.

A trip to the seaside wouldn’t be the same without a ride on a donkey, so give the kids a treat, their eyes will light up and they’ll chuckle with laughter as they trot off down the beach... and don’t forget to take a photo to send to your friends or to put on Facebook when you get home.

Our Lifeguards are always happy to help and advise you about beach safety if you need to speak to them, and always remember to check the flag system before you go for a paddle or a swim. If you see a RED FLAG, do not go into the water.

The Central Beach is so close to the main promenade that you can quickly pack up your deck chair and go and have a bit of fun at the fair or take a trip to the shops. But there are also plenty of services and things to do around and about the beach area; lots of ice-cream kiosks, cafes and novelty shops as well as toilet and first aid facilities - so take a break away from relaxing in the sun and have a bit more fun!
